Organic Certifications

certificationsOrganic Certification is the process that certifies the producers of Organic and allied agricultural products.

EarthenDelight has been certified for its standards of Organic farming and quality by International Accredited Certifying Agency.

  • Control Union Certifications (formerly known as Skal International) certifies that the products are organic if it fulfills certain criteria set down by the Union.

In India, certification body offers organic certification as per National Standards for Organic Production, rules equivalent to EC regulation 834/2007 and USDA NOP.

National Program for Organic Production (NPOP)

The production rules for EU organic production and for inspection and certification have been laid down in the EC Regulation No. 834/2007 and 889/2008 and in their amendments. This Regulation is in force within the European Union countries, but also sets criteria for importing organic products from outside the European Union.





National Organic Program

The production, inspection and certification rules for organic production according to the U.S. Standards have been laid down in the National Organic Program (NOP) of the United States Department of Agriculture. This Regulation is in force within the U.S.A., but also sets criteria for importing and exporting organic products to the Unites States of America.



In addition to this we are the member of:

  • Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
  • International Competence Centre of Organic Agriculture (ICCOA)

The certification process involves a comprehensive awareness and steady practices in adherence with all the norms set by the certification bodies.


Study

The organic standards, which cover in specific detail what is and is not allowed for every aspect of farming, including storage, transport and sale.

Compliance

Farm facilities and production methods must comply with the standards, which may involve modifying facilities, sourcing and changing suppliers, etc.

Documentation

Extensive paperwork is required, detailing farm history, field map and current set-up, and usually including results of soil, water and leaf tests.

Planning

A written annual production plan must be submitted, detailing everything from seed to sale: seed sources, field and crop locations, fertilization and pest control activities, harvest methods, storage locations, etc.

Inspection

Regular on-farm inspections are conducted on both announced and unannounced basis apart from Annual Inspection.

Record-keeping

Written, day-to-day farming and marketing records, field activities covering all activities, must be available for inspection at any time.
